Why should I be thinking about mimicry and chameleons? I haven’t any use for such notions.

Shuvalov lifted his head, sweetness clinging to his cheek.

‘Don’t follow me around like a dog’, Shuvalov said.

‘Listen. I agree. You take my retina and give me your love’.

‘Go and eat blue pears’, said Shuvalov.
