Poor baby. She doesn't want to leave her family just yet.

One of the things I've learned. It helps us both if I can tell my loved one that it's all right for them to go when they're ready. They don't have to hang on for my sake. (Although I've been known to ask them to do that too.)

She's lived a wonderful life full of love. Saff is spending her last days in peace with her family. All cats should be so lucky :)

My dearly loved 17 year old kitty lived with cancer for several years, almost without symptoms. Finally the tumors started affecting her lungs, and we knew she would be going soon.

She was a very big girl (13 lbs), but cautious--"better safe than sorry" was her motto. One night there was a thunderstorm, which was one of the things she was timid about. But she knew just what to do. She went to her "safe" place underneath a double bed, curled up, went to sleep, and simply never woke up.

I miss her very much, but I'm also glad she ended her life feeling safe and protected. And I'm sure it's the same for Saffy--*you're* her safe place. When the time comes, she can close her eyes and drift off with nothing to worry about.
