I don't believe in an interventionist God

But I know, darling, that you do.

The everyday, regular operation of the universe is the intervention of God, at least that's what I believe. It's why I believe the arc of history bends toward justice.

Thinking more about it, I don't think that the regular operation of the universe is an "intervention" of God because I think the regular order of the universe is sustained by God, continually. It wouldn't happen without that. Maybe that's what accounts for its regularity, you'd have to be God to have that kind of attention. I couldn't do it. I can barely concentrate through a music video.
