Then And Again

It's photographer William Henry Jackson's birthday today.  I was originally introduced to his work at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, where they had an comparative exhibit of photos by him and John Fielder, whose book on Colorado is a prized possession in my library.  Contained therein are juxtoposed pictures like those of Imogene Pass below.

I'm always astounded by how much stays the same over generations, and what exactly changes.
