Mozart literally wrote complete large works at a sitting, scarcely able to write fast enough to keep up with his own mind. Beethoven, OTOH, agonized over every note, wrote, rewrote, crossed out and rewrote some more.
Which is the greater composer? Who can say! Working styles often are not, alone, an indicator of relative greatness.
