What To Do
A general strike would be good. Some of us called for one a while back, but it didn't take. Now?
And boycotts? Refusal to pay debts? Lots of Methods we have at our disposal that we haven't even tried on a modest, let alone massive, scale.
I'd love to see people cancel their cable TV, refuse to pay back credit card companies and banks, avoid remitting medical bills, skip insurance premiums, and anything they can do to stop revenue streams to corporatists. Take those funds and redirect them, ala war taxes, to worthy causes. Disrupt the economic status quo and use our collective finances for good.
Some of those things entail sacrifice or risk. Is HCR important? Then what exactly can you sacrifice or risk to make it a reality?
This is truly an economic fight. Monied interests have leverage over Congress and the White House. We have more combined power than they do but have thus far not exercised it.
So throw off the shackles, call in sick and throw a monkey wrench into the works.
When should we do this? How do we organize it?

Well, I for one have decided to not pay back my credit card debt as they have just continually acted in bad faith while telling me I am valued as a long term customer with a sterling payment record. That didn't stop them from raising my interest rate to 29.99% and refusing to lower it. I am no longer willing to send my paycheck to subsidize the billion dollar payouts to their companies or the multimillion dollar payouts to their executives while I am just scraping by. After the first of the year I will be declaring bankruptcy. It kills me. I was raised to be very honest and to always be responsible and I have. But since my divorce in 2003 I have been pedaling furiously backwards in terms of income vs. expenses and I do not live high on the hog. There is nothing else that "they" can take from me. I no longer feel guilty when I see the excesses of the financial elite.

moistenedbink, my genuine sympathies. Sadly, you are not alone. I'm glad you no longer feel guilty. We can't win their game when they control how it's played.
I was looking at the 198 ways and I am going to join my employer's credit union. I don't have a lot in the bank but taking just a drop of financial power away is a start.
