Vigil Part II
Thousands of squares were sent in from all of the world.
Can you hear us, Obama?
Ah, my old nemesis.
Much cuter on the death trap than I am.
Sweeta Noori of Women for Women Int'l - Afghanistan.
Many squares still pinned as people furiously sew them together before tomorrow.
It was quite the festival atmosphere.
Lindsey Campbell, mother of the little blond girl running above, Iraq Vet 2004-2005, performing music she wrote while in the battlefield--at the time she wrote it, she was using a guitar given to her unit by an Iraqi translator.
Many of the squares came with notes attached by the knitters.
Sam Slam, Super Lesbian Activist Mom.
Ranger Rick, looking for cheap thrills.
Making good progress.
We Will
Not Raise
Our Children To
Kill Another
Mother's Child
Dry Run for tomorrow's banner-related activities.
In front of Michelle Obama's house.
After singing and a procession, back to the park for more sewing.
We're at Hecate's house at the moment, drinking coffee and just hanging around. The paparazzi are everywhere, probably because Christian Slater was in town for the WH dinner.
As a homeless women said to Ericka yesterday after we stopped to chat, have a blessed Mother's Day. Mothers really do create peace and life.
