Friday Graceyblogging

The Cat Whisperer wonders why we don't use him to get Gracey.

Taking a breather before continuing to pig out.
This time I snuck around the back of the house and carefully came up behind her, but in true Fenimore Cooper style I gave the game away and she scarpered again. Be easier with 2 people, methinks. Anyway, I got a better view of her and she does really look good, plus she's clearly got lots of energy being able to bolt away so fast.

PS--Here's Mark Twain on Cooper's twigs:
He prized his broken twig above all the rest of his effects, and worked it the hardest. It is a restful chapter in any book of his when somebody doesn’t step on a dry twig and alarm all the reds and whites for two hundred yards around. Every time a Cooper person is in peril, and absolute silence is worth four dollars a minute, he is sure to step on a dry twig. There may be a hundred handier things to step on, but that wouldn’t satisfy Cooper. Cooper requires him to turn out and find a dry twig; and if he can’t do it, go and borrow one. In fact, the Leather Stocking Series ought to have been called the Broken Twig Series.
In our yard it's either that or dog shit...
[Update: totally forgot to mention that Gracey ran around the north side of the house through the "door yard" (as it's sometimes called in Vermont), nearly bowling over a completely stunned Lola who was just sitting in a sunny part of the back yard. Rather comical sight.]

GRACIE! U STAY HOME NAO! It will be OK!
My BFF's kitty took off when her (evil redneck) boyfriend brought home a big, goofy dog. She had loved her previous dog, but the new one freaked her right out.
She hung around in the nabe, BFF kept food out for her, and eventually (it was about 6 weeks or 2 months), BFF was able to bring her into the house and be in a closed room with her overnight. Kitty gradually adapted to the new doggie and all is now well.
But it was heartbreaking and awful to go through.
GRACIE! DO U HEAR ME? U STAY HOME NAO!

How about a humane trap
and some tuna? Contact the local shelters in the area about renting one.

You should send that pic of Mex to Balloon Juice as he's posting lots of petz pix these days. Yours are the best. They really bring out the personalities and characters of the animals. I love that photo of Mex...wow. It's just beautiful. Someday you must publish a book of your photos.
Btw, it's nice to see Gracey. Maybe she'll start coming in now that it's colder? She wouldn't stay out all winter would she?
