Really, This Isn't Bad News

Edwards is out.  Now we guarantee that the Democrats will nominate either the first female or first black President in our nation's history.  As much as I supported another candidate because of his positions, breaking the status quo of white male domination since the birth of this nation (ahem) is only a good thing.

Me, I'm still voting for Kucinich in the primary.

I saw on C&L that Kucinich pulled in over 9,000 votes in Florida. Even though the Dem primary isn't supposed to count there, that's a pretty good symbolic show of support.

Well, it's bad in the sense that he was the only real progressive voice left in the race. Now Obama and Clinton will be able to start the long tack to the right that will last all the way until November. November 2011, that is, when they need to fend off a Democratic challenger for their re-election.
