I Must Be Doing It Wrong

Anybody wanna buy me lunch?

Zach Brooks pocketed $1,000 this month blogging about the cheap lunches he discovers around midtown Manhattan ($10 or less, preferably greasy, and if he's lucky, served from a truck).

The site, Midtownlunch.com, is just a year and a half old and gets only about 2,000 readers daily, but it's already earning him enough each month for a weekend trip to the Caribbean — or in his case, more fat-filled culinary escapades in the city.

In the vast and varied world of blogging, Brooks is far from alone.

It's no longer unusual for blogs with just a couple thousand daily readers to earn nearly as many dollars a month. Helping fill the pockets of such bloggers are programs like Google's AdSense and many others that let individuals — not just major publications — tap into the rapidly growing pot of advertising dollars with a click of the mouse.

In exchange, I'll kennel my dogz and go down to DC again and again to agitate for change.  I promise that I'll buy cheap lunches in the Dirksen office building...

I think sports blogs make more $$$ per view because sports fans use gambling and ticket services that haven't been accepted in traditional marketing venues.

Dooce.com earns enough from her blog (six figure income) to support her family. Daily, she posts 3 photos and writes maybe three times a week about her personal life. Amazing isn't it?

Good on you, Ntodd for your grassroots efforts. Nice looking pups.

It occurred to me today (yeah, I'm selfish and slow) how difficult the "holidays" must be for you.

Please know I am thinking about you, giving you granny hugs, and wishing you the very, very best.

I know you don;t want this getting around, but you are one big sweetheart (not a very well-kept secret) - and, hey, handsome brawn with brains and a loving nature.

Blessings on your sweet head, NTodd.

Best,
SD

I looked at that site. My god, why aren't we all rich, if it's that easy?
