LOL! Lovely Malamutes. Very well trained. Not to mention in the mood to listen as well.
I've the same look on my two Mals. Something good is coming their way. Only with mine, they'd both be talking and butts would be twitching. Nanuk would get louder and Kyri would correct him for bad manners. Nanuk would correct Kyri for correcting him and then both would be squabbling like siblings in the middle of the sidewalk. Scaring everyone and embarassing me. LOL

Nancy - I have a few contract gigs scattered about to pay the mortgage (until I sell the house) and property taxes (which I do pay, since they go toward schools and roads), including teaching a couple classroom sections at Champlain College. It's a pittance and health insurance doesn't come with any of it, though I might qualify for our new state program given my chosen status being below the poverty line. I really have to think about whether I should partake of such services when I refused to pay my 2006 taxes.
Owl - Mals are wicked cool. I've always liked them.
