IOKICDI
I am but mad north-north-west: when the wind is southerly I know a hawk from a handsaw.
- Hamlet, Act II, scene ii
It occurred to me as I was crawling through the pea soup on my way home from the airport in the wee hours yesterday that the wingersphere's guiding star has pretty much always been What Will We Tell The Children in the Everything Bill Clinton Did Was Evil constellation. That's why everything Bush did was good: he did the opposite (e.g., bailing on the AF with North Korea).
Yet any time Bush gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar (e.g., politically motivated firings of US attorneys), they cry "well, Clinton did it, too!" Odd, that.
Hamlet: Do you see that cloud, that's almost in shape like a camel?
Polonius: By the mass, and 't is like a camel, indeed.
Hamlet: Methinks, it is like a weasel.
Polonius: It is backed like a weasel.
Hamlet: Or, like a whale?
Polonius: Very like a whale.

Except that Clinton did do it, only much worse. He fired all the prosecutors, which was his right, since they are political appointees, serving at the pleasure of the President. Bush fires eight, and suddenly the Left has it's knickers in a twist?
You ladies are so fragile. Butch up a bit, will you?

No, actually, he fired them at the beginning of his term, like everybody else did. Bush nailed these guys in the middle of his 2nd term for clear political reasons due to their refusal to investigate people on his terms under the provisions of a dangerous act that allows him to appoint new USA's without Congressional approval.
Fuck off, you fascist.

I read that Bush did fire a bunch of prosecutors as per usual, and set his own lawyers up. Then he fired his OWN lawyers for faked reasons because they resisted toeing the line. It will be interesting to see what the other prosecutors did to keep their jobs, and how much pressure they were under to get Democrats into court.

Asking for the resignations of every USA at the beginning of the new President's term is usual.
The problem here is that Rove was firing specific USAs becasue they were getting too close to maladministration minions who were engaged in obviously criminal activity.

Ah, the erudite commentary of the vociferous Right. If you could harness the power of that misogyny, there would never be another blackout anywhere in North America.

Except for the drink-induced ones.
