How Many 'E's In 'Clueless'?

NYTimes:

Senator John McCain arrived in Iowa on Saturday to begin testing one of the biggest questions so far of his presidential campaign: Is there a place in the presidential arena for an all-out supporter of the war in Iraq?

No.

He attacked Senate Democrats for what he called “a political stunt” in trying to join the House in passing a nonbinding resolution opposing President Bush’s plan to send more troops to Baghdad.

Clausewitz aside, voting to implement the will of the American people isn't a political stunt.  Flying to DC in the middle of the night to sign legislation interfering with an individual's end of life decisions, staging a major speech in a hurricane-devastated city and then turning the lights back out when you're done, landing on aircraft carriers, carrying around plastic turkeys, and sending 21,500 troops into an already lost war...those are political stunts.

“If we leave Iraq, they are going to follow us home,” he said.

What, like stray puppies?  Smuggling themselves in our troops' duffels?  Crossing the Atlantic on Kon-Tiki rafts built from depleted uranium?  Are you fucking serious?

“[I]f we fail here — I’m going to give you very straight talk here — it’s not going to maintain the support of the American people.

How do maintain something you do not have?  I'm having a hard time maintaining my lifestyle as a millionaire and would really like to know.

“I can give you lots of options,” he added. “But I’m hard-pressed to find one that will get the support of the American people.”

Here's one.  I have a sneaking suspicion there are others.

It's the Disney Haunted Mansion theory of geopolitics. At the end of the ride they warn you that a ghost will follow you home...

I think the most compelling reason as to why I do not hate mccain like i do bush is that mccain really believes in the insanity that he spouts. With bush and many others, its just a game,, but Mccain, he really is crazy. So,, I like mccain because he is truly insane rather than bush who just pretends to be?? I sure would not vote, nor did i, for either.
