Wednesday Rasmussenblogging

The only poll worth paying attention to™:

For the full month of December, the President’s Job Approval Rating among all adults slipped to 39%, down from 42% in November. The December reading is the lowest ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports. Those figures include 18% who Strongly Approve and 43% who Strongly Disapprove.

Rasmussen Reports also conducts an entirely separate nightly survey of Likely Voters. Participants in that survey are asked to rate the President on a scale of excellent, good, fair, or poor. For the full month of December, 19% said excellent, 18% good, 16% fair, and 47% poor.

For the first daily reading of 2007, the President’s numbers have bounced up a bit. Forty-three percent (43%) say they approve of the way he’s performing. This is the first Job Approval rating data collected since Saddam Hussein’s sentence was carried out. As with all such bounces, it will take a few days to learn whether this is a lasting change or mere statistical noise.

Quite a surge.  Happy New Year, Mr Preznit.  Oh, BTW: Speaker Pelosi!
