"We are not retreating -- we are advancing in another direction."

Remember, no timetables.  Thus said SecDef Rummy, Gen. Webster and Preznit BushUnless...

The Bush administration is drafting a timetable for the Iraqi government to address sectarian divisions and assume a larger role in securing the country, senior American officials said.

Perhaps it has something to do with this:

Five bicycle bombs and a hail of mortar shells ripped apart a market south of Baghdad on Saturday, killing 18 people in yet another sign that Iraq's government and U.S. forces were struggling to contain sectarian violence. Three U.S. Marines also were killed, making October the deadliest month for American forces this year...more than 3 1/2 years of war have now taken more American lives — at least 2,791 — than the Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center.

And speaking of 9/11:

Workers recovered more human remains Saturday from manholes at the World Trade Center site as the city began a new search for Sept. 11 victims.

The search was prompted by the surprise discovery of dozens of bones in an abandoned manhole this week.

Good thing the GOP isn't trying to politicize terrorism or anything...
