Wednesday Rasmussenblogging

The triumphant return of  the only poll worth paying attention to™:

Forty-two percent (42%) of Americans approve of the way that George W. Bush is performing his role as President. Fifty-six percent (56%) disapprove.

The President’s Job Approval among Republicans has moved up to 79%. It had fallen as low as 66% following his national television address on immigration but Republicans have been more positive about the President since the death of al-Zarqawi. Still, even at 79%, the President’s support among the GOP faithful is down from the high-80s he enjoyed for most of his first term.

Quite the Dead Zarqawi Bounce!  I also find it interesting that Assmussen hasn't left the figures from earlier in June when Bush was languishing at in the mid-30s.

Pease tell me you're being sarcastic about Assmuffin.

"The only poll worth paying attention to" is not how I would describe their site.

So even in this poll, there's more than a mandate against Georgie. If 51% is a mandate, what's 56%? A grand mandate?

I can't believe that Republicans are naive enough to believe that Zarqawi's death will actually matter.

He was turned over by Al Qaeda because he was an embarrassment.

The rebels are run from the Green Zone, Al Qaeda plays a small part.
