Final Words

I know it's inside baseball and all, but yesterday's Protein Trainwreck incident does illustrate a few things: that the wingersphere is full of hateful people who think themselves all civil and shit, and will never, ever let you forget it; it can be difficult to separate the online and offline worlds no matter what you do; blog wars are great for traffic.

Ripley, a co-conspirator at Blog Integrity, weighs in on this, as does the angry and very dangerous lawyer watertiger, and Thers himself.  I will speak no more of it.

PS--Goldstein is still a stupid dick.  I got yer intent right here, pasty motherfucker.

[Update: I lied and will speak once more of it.  Thers has shuttered Metacomments to make sure the sick, twisted fucks who get jollies out of making lewd comments about 2yo daughters and outing wives and such can't mine for pics of his kids and comments to cudgel him with.

Closing the proverbial barndoor in a sense, but it's not unlike a reaction to any kind of electronic attack: you gather data for a while, if something sensitive is in danger, you shut it down before damage can be done, then you move on.

Sad that his mildly incivil critiques of somebody's idiotic literary notions brought out the Fuckwit Swarm, but them's the breaks in this New Wild West.  I hope the cocksuckers are happy.]

What happened to the comments over on [Metacomments]? I guess he decided to take my advice and stay out of the boxing ring, eh?

Bunch of chuckleheads.

NB: Edited by NTodd to expunge Ther's real surname. Dogtown is a fuckwit with no integrity, and now I know where he works...

Dogtown, you wouldn't happen to be an Information Management Coordinator, wouldya?

What on Earth does that have to do with my comment? Do you always answer a question with a question?

I guess it's time to move on from this issue. Thers is back in his cave with his family, all safe and sound, and you need to get your ass back on your bike. Oy!

Given your non-denial, I'm pretty sure you know why I asked.

And no biking today: thunderstorms make for a less-than-optimal ride.

Ah, I'm still around, soon with new digs.

Posted by: Thers | May 31, 2006 5:24:33 PM

Peace, and I'm glad you'll be back, Thers.

I happen to know that thunderstorms can contribute to an epic ride, but after a 90 miler through 4 cells (apparently dodging a couple of tornado touchdowns along the way) and at one point recognising that we were the highest features on the landscape for a couple thousand yards for a couple of miles of tarmac while riding through the last cell, well lets just say I wouldn't blame you for blowing off the bike today.

Hey Todd, if you find out before the rest of us when Thersites sets up a new site, could you toss a link up? Thanks.
