Tomorrow promises to also be the beginning of American abandonment of Iraq. American self-preservation will mean that Iraq will be left to suffer on its own for years to come.

That's the real crime in all this. We fucked the place up nearly beyond repair, but American pride will not allow us to fix it after we're gone. Democrat or Republican, we're just gonna forget about the place the minute the last troop is home.
The wingnuts will pay as much attention to the "central front in the war on terror" as they do to the brave American soldier, once s/he's home.
