Why We Lost

What Went Wrong in the Iraq from the Strategic Studies Institute (via DNI):

Though the critics have made a number of telling points against the conduct of the war and the occupation, the basic problems faced by the United States flowed from the enterprise itself, and not primarily from mistakes in execution along the way. The most serious problems facing Iraq and its American occupiers – "endemic violence, a shattered state, a nonfunctioning economy, and a decimated society" – were virtually inevitable consequences that flowed from the breakage of the Iraqi state.

Rather that 'do it better next time,' a better lesson is 'don’t do it at all.'

Astonishing conclusions coming from the Army War College: that not only did the US make thousands of tactical errors (including our Operations Whack-a-mole and Punked), it also made a big strategic mistake invading Iraq.  Will Iran be the next strategic error?

Well, true, but we're a bit late for that as far as Iraq's concerned.

Let's hope we can learn it in time not to completely mess up over Iran, as you say...

But Bush understands deciding. He is one of the decider folks. He didn't say anything about invaderizing.

I still can't understand how "Christians" can claim the moral highground on this war. It seems to me to be totally against all the ethical and moral principals of Christianity's teachings.
