hmm, looks like I'm going more libertarian in my old age since I last took that test (when did you first put that up? two years ago? three?). Well, things ARE getting more dire in the real world. Ugh.
Now:
Economic Left/Right: -8.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -8.15
Then:
Economic Left/Right: -8.5

HA! I'm averagely average!
I hate these tests, I argue with the questions all the way through. I know I'd be a terrible witness in court..."Yes or No? Me: Well... it depends"
Posted by: ellroon | Dec 28, 2005 3:34:12 PM
Looks like I'm pretty average in comparison to the crowd hereabouts. And why am I not surprised to see Chuckles alone out in right field?

Pretty mushy liberal.
Although, if I retook the test tomorrow I'd probably get a different result.

Whoa, looks like I have some work to do! Now that I've got this software to do the graphing, it should be quick. I'll post an update sometime this weekend.

Man, if I had been taking this quiz annually over the past fifteen years, the graph as a function of time would look really interesting...(I'm not sure how much S L/A would change, but E L/R, definitely.)
Posted by: mds | Dec 30, 2005 1:12:04 PM
Proud to be out alone in right field - I'm here, for you to jeer, get over it.
Posted by: Charlie | Dec 30, 2005 1:15:15 PM
Aw, Charlie, we still love you. Even if nothing else, there's the Parable of the Lost Sheep, you know. :-)
Posted by: mds | Dec 30, 2005 1:47:42 PM
I know - unfortunately for you, I am one of the 99 sheep who actually listen to His voice - just be glad I didn't post something like "Think Pink (alternatively, Just Think)" although my favorite is "Two Pairs Beats a Straight"

Who let the troll back in?
Posted by: Michael | Dec 30, 2005 2:18:37 PM
Since I am the one posting on topic and responding to others directly, I guess YOU did, Michael.
Posted by: Charlie | Dec 30, 2005 2:24:09 PM
My New Years resolution is to not respond to trolls though, so back on topic - the left wing blogs have indeed had a moderating effect on me - I take the quiz today and get a score of 4.13 Right and only 1.90 Authoritarian ; )
I do recall the same problem I had with that last question too - I "disagree" that it's fine for society to be open about sex, but "strongly agree" regardless these days it's going too far - so I split the baby and said just plain "agree".
Posted by: Charlie | Dec 30, 2005 3:00:13 PM
Who let the troll back in?
Huh! Huh! Huh! Who let the troll in? Etc.
unfortunately for you, I am one of the 99 sheep who actually listen to His voice
Hang on: Economic Left/Right of 4.38? Sounds more like "young ruler" territory, or someone who doesn't approve of Jubilee years. 4.13 is just fine, though. :-)
Meanwhile, as Charlie and Steppy point out, there seem to be some definite error bars on these scores. Do we want to be rigorous, or poised for a comeback?
Posted by: mds | Dec 30, 2005 3:08:19 PM
Young ruler?! Ouch - since I don't believe Jesus was a socialist, I always preferred the lawyer who at least asked and answered correctly, the advantage being I know the end of His Story and who my neighbors are.

I find I'm trending more to "strongly agree/strongly disagree" answers rather than the sort of wishy washy "well, yea, kinda sorta" answers I used to give on this test. Thus creeping further down and leftward on the scale...
