Goodbye

Saffron was a good cat, and has taken The Long Walk, leaving her pains behind. The Great Meadow awaits...

PS--I took this picture of Saffron walking down our road last Wednesday, convinced it was the last time I'd see her. Turns out she didn't want to die alone in the cold and came back thirty minutes later. I'm glad.

Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.
Blessed be NTodd, Steff and Sam.

They ask me why I live in the green mountains.
I smile and don't reply; my heart's at ease.
Peach blossoms flow downstream, leaving no trace --
And there are other earths and skies than these.

Saffron passed over in the company of friends and lives on in their memories.
She returned to say good bye.

I'm so sorry, NTodd. The whole process had to be agonizing. Did she cross over on her own, or did she need help? I really hope it was the former, and that you were able to be there with her.

(Literally wiping away tears...) NTodd, Saffron led a blessed life, and knew it. And as I said earlier, she will always be with you. Peace be with you, and Stef, and Cairo, and Sam.

So sorry to hear about your loss. Life has a strange way of giving us wonderous gifts and then snatching them away. Chin up and blog on dear sir.

I'm sorry for your loss, NTodd. She was a good cat. My Saddie passed on, today. Maybe they will chase mice together in kitty heaven.

Farewell, Saffron; now chasing an endless supply of field mice in the Great Meadow, warmed by perpetual sunlight.
Sorry, NTodd.

I have been at Pendle Hill all week, studying what's "Behind the Silence" with Ben Pink Dandelion and away from the daily walk with you and Saffron. Sounds like she joined the full moon. I, too, am crying now. Thanks for that opportunity, Saffron.
Blessings on you, and all who love you.
