When Monkeys Fly Out My Butt

AP:

Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid said Sunday that President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney should apologize for the actions of their aides in the CIA leak case.

Reid, D-Nev., also said Bush should pledge not to pardon any aides convicted as a result of the investigation into the disclosure of CIA officer Valerie Plame's identity.

"There has not been an apology to the American people for this obvious problem in the White House," Reid said. He said Bush and Cheney "should come clean with the American public."

Apologizing is "giving in" according to Bush's wordlview.  He's incapable of it.  Already they're breaking out the "bad apple" defense, once again showing the buck always stops somewhere else.

What's more, they obviously think they can ride this thing out.  Hey, just keep talking about all the work you gotta do, don't mention The Problem, and I'm sure everybody will forget all about this.  But I think they're mistaken on this: the longer this shit goes on, the more people even in their own party are going to doubt their integrity and, more importantly, their ability to get anything done with the cloud of Karl Rove and indictments hanging over the White House.

Bush's obstinancy is only going to make matters worse for him politically.

Obstinancy? I don't think so. It's rugged simplicity. Looks manly. Yes, and Laura likes it too!

Oh, wait. Sorry, that's an old Irish Spring commercial. Jeez, I hate those brief flashbacks. They are kind of scary.

Anyway, I would vote for a more accurate word/phrase, such as-say-brain damage? Denial? Or the ever popular, dumber then a box of rocks?

Dumber than a box of hammers. And less useful.

A quote from Boston Globe article titled, Knocking on Cheney's door

"The vice president needs Libby now much more than Libby needs him."

Now, Cheney is praying for the secrecy, privacy and loyalty of Libby not given to Plame, the US, the world.

Oh, the irony is so not covert.
