"soft focus" = too tipsy to hold the camera steady

Saffy! So beautiful! Her fur looks lovely and thick, unlike some elderly kitties.

She looks pretty impatient with the Flashy Thing, though.

Remek - heh, wasn't too tipsy on the Fitzmas wine just then! A little later...?

Actually, the lighting is simply horrid over in her favorite corner, but I didn't want to use the flash--her eyes wouldn't have been open, for starters. So I cranked up the ISO a bit (hence the grainy quality) and shot with a 4/10 of a second shutter speed. That's actually a bit underexposed, but anything more would've been REALLY blurry!

Nice thing is that, in addition to her eyes actually being open as she looks at the camera, Saff also appears to be a bit fluffy and fuller--she's actually very wiry and, well, old looking. Plus the blur provides a sort of "old memory" feel to it all, which I thought was apt. :-)
