For That Fucking Obtuse Asshole Charlie

Pandagon (via Atrios):

For some reason, "You're a fucking racist idiot" is a more offensive statement than "black people have less native intelligence than other races, and embrace poverty accordingly". Even worse is the "the major goddamn drain on the budget is the tax cuts, as the federal budget has shown every fucking year since 2002", which simply blows "the tax cuts have increased revenue, because that's the power of fiscal conservatism" out of the water. A lie, an insult, a grossly racist imputation is afforded legitimacy because it's said nicely.

Why do I curse? One, because it's my site.
...
I don't curse if someone's presenting a serious case before me. I don't curse if it ruins the tenor of the post, something either serious or light. I do, however, curse if the person is attempting to pass a virulent idea off as acceptable and polite because they used "polite" language, if they're being rankly dishonest, or if they themselves have a history of teeing off on others using cursewords whenever they disagree with them.
...
There's also one other little problem. Between the accusations of treason, the not-so-veiled threats of some form of vague conservative retaliation, the fact that we're constantly held accountable for Michael Moore, Arianna Huffington and Sean Penn, and the fact that if you told John Hinderaker he was from Minnesota on Atrios, he'd find a way to prove he was from Kentucky, these people simply aren't worth treating nicely and politely. In all honesty, if the worst we do the Fucking Moron Brigade is call them the Fucking Moron Brigade while they damn our eternal souls and tell us we hate our country, then we win.

Fuckin'a, bubba.

Although I do I admit that I curse even when there's a good argument being presented.  Just ask Hubris.  Then again, I am like a non-obnoxious Tom Green, so what would you expect?

But I generally save my real invective for when people, oh...post stupid fucking hypotheticals about aliens landing and whether I'd blame Bush for not repulsing the attack in 36 hours.  I'm a dick that way...

Boy, do I know when to walk into a blog, or what?

Sounds like you have a Ray Bolger contest on your hands.

NTodd,

I choose to take your abuse as a sign of caring. Like all my other relationships.

Hubris Sonic,

Fuck you too...I mean, good morning.

Aliens have landed in some fool's head

MB - so many statements to choose from! Makes my brain hurt.

Hubris Sonic - yeah, the other one. But you would know what I'm talking about as well.

Hubris (the other one) - Oh yes, it's a sign of love.

Mike - you'd think that if aliens could fly billions of miles, they could build a better mind control device.
