Anti-war Report: Morning

I'm working on pics from yesterday (filled a couple memory cards--took some video, too, but dealing with that has to wait 'til I get home).  Here's a quick report about our morning first, composed in the past and then, using Thers II's wicked cool time machine, posted in the future.  Which is now to us, but then it was the future.  Because that was the past.  Or something.  I'm a little fuzzy on time travel concepts anyway, and I'm not firing on all cylinders right now.  I mean, more than normal.  But at least NYMary made coffee.  What's this post about?  Oh, yeah...

Saturday, 24 March, 2005 - 5:50am: I am gently awakened by a nudge from NYMary and a softly-spoken, "Todd...Todd..."

Hey, get your mind out of my gutter!  There's no hankypanky going on under Thers' roof.  Damn it.

Anyhoo, NYMary wakes me up because she needs something.  Something only NTodd can give her.  That's right: my car keys.

I sleep in another 20 minutes.  Why didn't I go to bed before 1:30am?  I blame Thers.  He also cancelled Christmas--hate-filled liberal.

Then pretty much the rest of the morning is a blur: frantic searches for a kid's sock, ramming on shoes, strapping into car seats, firing up the rocket engines, going to the bank, getting Thers II his hashbrowns, stopping at the Quik-E-Mart, loitering at the Quik-E-Mart, finally hitting the road for real, wishing I could stop to take pictures of the amazing fog, sunrise and bucolic landscape, misdirection, construction, traffic, debates on best routes, driving, always driving, faster, racing the Lexus, get out of my way, learn to drive, call watertiger, we're late, she's calling again, Thers says she's mad, no she isn't you liar, is she really, the Greenbelt Metro station, ah...

Look: it's watertiger!  She's not mad!  Neither are fellow Atriots spork, Honey Bear Kelly, Karmic Jay,  the non-hirsute Smitty, the anonymous NYCers or the spy from DailyKos.  Quick, the Metro passes that Hecate provided!  On the train!  Where the hell are we going?  Just follow Smitty.  He's our native guide.  The natives are restless.  So are the non-natives.  Many t-shirts and signs, indications already of a big rally.

And that's my courageous story.  More coffee now.

See, it's all about the iron fist and velvet glove.
