Busy.  Will blog sometime, but lots to do before I get on that Dash-8 tomorrow afternoon.

Ah, the Dash-8. Many's the time I flew American Eagle's version of that little puddle jumper from Traverse City to Chicago.

It's a step up from the old North Central Electras. They smelled of kerosene, cigarette smoke, and barf. And those were a step up from the Lake Central DC-3's. Now that was flying!

I hate the Dash-8. They're loud, have those damned turboprops in the way, and are just so unmodern in their "conveniences". BTW, here's a pic I took last time I was flying Useless Airways from LGA...

They used to call those old bicycles, the ordinaries with a huge front wheel, "boneshakers." If they'd waited a few decades, they could have saved the name for the DASH-8. It's been over four years since I've flown in one, but I swear my poor skeleton is still recovering. And that flight was only from Dallas to Houston.

Remember when winding the rubberbands, that the starboard one twists CCW and the port one twists CW. I forget was it three hundred turns? I remember going to Dulles and I think it was three-fifty.
