Friday Nostalgiablogging
This evening I was doing a bit of cleaning in the disaster area I call my office and found this picture in a box my grandmother sent up from NC with my parents last year:

NTodd: May 11, 1972.
At some point I'll find the picture of me with hair so long people would tell my aunt that she had "a beautiful niece." Growing up pretty much every day was a bad hair day.

PS--At some point I might do something like what Mark has done at Biomes Blog. It's just really hard to find any pictures of me in the 70s and 80s where I don't look like a total dork.

» Office Space from Bobby Cramer
NTodd had the guts to put up a picture of his home office space, and I commented that it looked "like a goat went through the buffet line at CompUSA and then exploded." Snarky, yes, but some people work well in a space like that. Considering the outp... [Read More]

Um, NTodd, everybody pretty much looked like a dork in the 70's.

Your office looks like a goat went through the buffet line at CompUSA and then exploded.

You have received the 4 year old seal of approval as a "cute little boy, but I don't plan on marrying him" You may tell Stef to breathe easier, a 4 year old in West Texas doesn't have designs on you!

What's scary is that when that picture was taken, I was finishing up my freshman year at the University of Miami.

Why were the '70s so cruel? Try hitting puberty while wearing bodysuits and miniskirts (1974).

You're a braver man than I am, Gunga DiNTodd. Your cross was hair, mine was godawful woodchuck teeth.

Holy SHIT, NTodd! I thought you were kidding about the office!
Posted by: watertiger | Mar 18, 2005 9:53:36 PM
OH. MY. GOD.
Did you know that I am a Certified Professional Organizer? Did you know that messy offices are the equivalent to porn for me? Did you know that I live for shows like 'Mission Organization' on HGTV?
And did you know that I help friends get their offices/homes/whatever under control for free??
Well now you know!

For the record, my office mess is now spread all over the 2nd floor, encroaching on the library (Sam's room), the hallway and Stef's office. I'm cleaning! 'tis darkest ere the dawn...

PULEEEZE take 'before' (well, guess you already did), 'during' and 'after pix' of your office...could ya??
Yeah, I am pathetic when it comes to seeing the finished product of a well-organized space :-)

Wow, I couldn't be that messy if I tried, and I have!!
Posted by: BlakNo1 | Mar 18, 2005 11:54:50 PM
I'm that messy < sigh >.
NTodd, we now see why you became a recognized hunk later in life. The hair is understandable for that age, but what's unforgiveable is that shirt. The 70s were cruel indeed.
One question: Did you have as smart-ass a mouth on you then as you do now? Just so I know how much you must unlearn...

Kath - this is a family blog. I don't do porn. (pssst...e-mail me later)
Blak - I've got skillz.
LJ/A - My parents always let me dress myself. Much to their chagrin, I thought plaid went well with plaid. As for the smart-ass mouth, I have no idea what you're talking about. I am but a plainspoken, polite boy who was raised to be courteous at all times.

Good grief, I hope the plaid with plaid remark wasn't an oblique reference to that shirt, which is clearly striped. Not plaid.
If you don't know the difference, must I dress you, too?

Uh-oh.
andante has posted a childhood pic. Now NTodd has posted a childhood pic. (Laughs wildly, then shuts up at the thought of what comes next...) Does that mean we all have to post 'em? First I'll have to find mine (he lied)...
My office-at-home is actually fairly well organized, considering how much stuff is in it. The space five feet in any direction from the computer is very well organized, and the rest is acceptable. I do have a problem getting around to dusting and vacuuming, though. (Coughs loudly.)

Cute picture. You look so alert and happy. Regarding your computer space, don't feel too bad. Many great minds have messy desks. Mine is pretty bad, too.

...since you showed us your office, here's mine...honest...
