About Last Night
So I got checked into my hotel by 4:30PM. Splashed some water on my face, changed out of my travel clothes, and headed up to 79th Street. It was a bit brisk outside, but nothing a hardy Vermonter can't handle. I wanted to walk because I don't usually get that far from Times Square, save for Central Park, so I figured I could get a better lay of the land.
I was the very first to arrive at Dorian's (I hate being late, so I generally arrive wicked early), even after taking a couple detours for fun. Then everybody else started arriving and a lot of stuff happened that I can't quite remember, but I'm pretty sure you shouldn't believe anything Elayne or watertiger have to say. The nice thing is that I somehow ended up with $182,319 in cash and checks in my pocket, though I'm pretty sure it wasn't from selling lots of prints.
Anyway, clearly I had an absolutely wonderful time. It was wicked cool meeting people I've known virtually for so long. Thanks once again to Julia for recommending the place and Elayne for working out all the details.

PS--I got to see Robin Riggs' wonderful portfolio, and I especially loved this special Silver Surfer.
PPS--Yeah, I'll post an update with some pics. I actually didn't take all that many. Really. Too busy dancing on the tables apparently.
[Update: Trying not to duplicate what Elayne posted, here are a few pics I took:

On my right, dead center of the table, was Tom Burka (with Rosie of Friday Babyblogging fame, her spoon and mom NYMary in the background).

To my left was Her Majesty. Robin gave her some comics, which she turned to when conversation became boring. She also wisely did not bet money with me when we were playing dice--good thing because I would've lost my shirt.

Steve simels (left) drinks his Pine-Sol whilst watertiger regales the far end of the table with tales of high adventure. Next to her is Thersites II, world famous 5-year old photoblogger, working on next week's offering while his dad, the aptly named Thersites I, listens to watertiger's story.]

That's odd. I'm missing $182,319 from my wallet.
Y'know, most of the time my eyes are open. MOST of the time.

Well, I've taken a look at some of the shots on my memory card, and I'm starting to get the picture (heh). I'm pretty sure I wore pants, but they seem to be missing.

The photographic record does not lie.

The NYC atriots get together with nTodd, and he leaves with over 180 grand in his pockets? WT??? If my chapter has a meet-up, I'm there!

Okay, I have a correction to make. I recounted and it turns out it wasn't $180k, but rather $2.76. I regret the error.

So why is there still $180K missing from my wallet?
I demand a recount.

$2.76 is not a lot of money. Are you still missing your pants?
