Kids, Don't Try This At Home

Dateline Brattleboro, Vermont:

A Connecticut man is facing civil littering charges after distributing homophobic pamphlets in Brattleboro, Vermont.

Police said they found Christopher Gearhart, 25, of Torrington, Conn., distributing the fliers along a residential street.

"Basically he was charged for littering because it's not illegal to hand out pamphlets," said Lt. Chuck Aleck of the Brattleboro Police Department, adding Gearhart was dropping the pamphlets on the sidewalk as well as the street.

The pamphlet is titled "Is Homosexual Activity Normal?" and it includes a warning that its material is explicit and not appropriate for children. It was produced by a group affiliated with a newsletter called "The Truth At Last." A mailing address on the pamphlet is in Marietta, Ga.

The Truth At Last is reportedly a front organization for the Ku Klux Klan.

Brattleboro resident Kelley Mulhall said she found one of the pamphlets in a small, orange plastic bag in her driveway.

"Not only am I horribly upset about the article, but more so where they state it is not appropriate for children, and they drop it within 200 yards of the school," she said.

The pamphlet gives detailed descriptions of sexual activities, and makes inflammatory assertions about the way gays, lesbians and bisexuals behave.

These people not only have no sense of deceny and compassion, but they clearly have no sense, period.  The same folks who don't want children exposed to the gay maple sugar agenda on TV have no problem distributing pamplets with explicit details about gay sex all over town and near schools.

Regardless how you feel about homosexuality, that right there shows how idiotic these wingers really are.  What's next?  Teaching fire safety by burning down the local congregational church?

It's the complete fascination on the part of these people with the details of the sex act itself that always gets me. Ignoring the fact that I can't think of too many specifically homosexual "sexual activities" that aren't also enjoyed by plenty of heterosexuals engaged in God-sanctioned male/female hanky panky, the God Hates Fags types seem to be either upset at the general grossness of human sexuality or simply "tempted" by the sort of feelings a solid 0 or 1 on the Kinsey Scale wouldn't ever notice. Sometimes it seems too easy to ascribe all the hate to latent homosexual tendencies, but no other explanation seems to do their fervor justice.

All I'm saying is, as an official blog Hunk, you better watch out.

If they did that in Florida it would be a felony within 1000 feet of a church or school, assuming it was at all "sexually explicit". They can't do that in a Red State, so the head up to bother people in Blue States.

If they don't like it, they shouldn't do it, and since it bothers them so much they shouldn't read about it.

Am I allowed to gannon someone else's blog?

If so, then ... here.

Alex - I'm inclined to think that the GHF types are grossed out by sex in general, and any sex that deviates what they deem the call of duty (just lie back and think of Mother England) is beyond the pale.

Bryan - That's crazy enough, it just might work!

vaara - heh, thanks for the blog gannon.

I can't imagine having to live in one of those people's shells. I cannot put myself in their shoes for one second. Their hatred is so powerful, it makes them deranged. I would not want to know or even live by one of those people. Call me a bigot or hypocrite, but trhat is just NOT NORMAL activity.

Wahoo! Marrieta, GA! That's only a few miles down the road from Savannah. Oh, wait... that's no good. Why do these freaks always live right next door to me?

owl - damn right. Hatred is not a family value.

Keith - you might consider moving to Buckhead.
