Street Cred

You must read this.

Disclaimers:

1. Just because I link to something does not mean I endorse it.

2. I link to things online that I find interesting and worth further discussion or examination. I do not fact-check articles, blog posts, and other online material before linking to them.  I'm too damned busy as a college professor to do that shit.

3. I do welcome comments, but I don't give a rat's ass if it will help to fact-check the material I have linked to.  You think I read what you post?  I just want lots of comments to have a sense of self-worth.

4. The information, ideas, and opinions found on this blog are my own. They are not official positions of the Democratic Party, The Left, The Center or anybody else.  Sometimes alcohol might be to blame, however, so if you disagree with anything here you should attack the California wine industry, not me.

Cool, NTodd, can anyone borrow your words?

I'm not sure. We should check with the BEP (Blogger Ethics Police). God knows I want to have credibility.

Hoo, boy. That was pretty sassy. LOL

California wine?? Ew.

I guess they don't pay you college perfessers enough to afford the REAL stuff. You know, Australian Shiraz.

You need to understand that at Harvard if you are a tenured professor you have slaves...graduate students to do the actual work: teaching assistants to deal with students, research assistants to gather all your facts and verify them. All you actually do is have your name affixed when its all done.

If there are problems you purge the graduate students and continue to receive your salary.

As near as I can tell this person has the attention span of a ferret [or the pResident] and the same sense of responsibility, which, in the case of the ferret, is wonderfully entertaining.

bigvic - I hope I didn't cross any ethical lines.

vaara - funny you should say that: I'm actually drinking an Alice White Shiraz right now. Not great, but cheap enough for adjunct profs.

Bryan - oh, to be tenured. Alas, that will require graduate work, and I really don't like going to class--that's why I skipped so much in college (though I'll note I made Dean's list every year and grajiated cum laude).

Hey, me too! Except I was Magna. Of course one might snarkily insist that such an honor is nigh-on meaningless, coming as it does from a third-rate academic crap-hole like Middlebury College.

Or not.

though I'll note I made Dean's list every year and grajiated cum laude...

Does that have something to do with porn?

Please, won't you think of the kittens?

(whispering) you don't read what we post? :-(

PS. How many strokes er, I mean comments, does it take to enhance your self-worth?

:-)
