Cowards

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted 16-2 in favor of Rice, sending her nomination to the full Senate.  The two dissenters were Boxer and Kerry--I condemn the rest of the Dems on the panel, especially Biden, as cowards.

Memo to the Spineless Party: this is why you lost.  You have consistenly refused to hold the Bush administration accountable for anything.  It's not enough to thump your chest in a hearing and rip into Condi about Iraqi security forces, intel failures, etc, only to end up voting to confirm.  This woman was clearly incompetent during her tenure as NSA, boldly lied to your faces in the hearings, is unqualified for State, and now you allow her to be our top diplomat? Fucking pathetic.

I wrote my senators, Leahy and Jeffords, and asked them to vote against Condi's nomination when it reaches the floor.  I admonished Pat to help the Dems act like a real opposition party.  As much as I like him, I don't think he's going to act any more courageouly than his peers.
