Open Thread

Busy with a year-end meeting at the office today, and our company NODWISH party tonight.  Consider this the first ever official DM open thread (which is weird since I have the policy that there's no such thing as OT).  When I come back I'd better find 300 comments, just like over at Eschaton and dKos.

Here's a poser to kick things off: how does Hegelian dialectic inform us about today's current political climate in the United States?

Fun with Hegelian dialectics? How about imagining Li'l George trying to pronounce "antithesis"?

Ok, you've been sniffing your lens cleaner again, haven't you NTodd? Come on. Admit it. It's the first step in getting better, you know that.

Hegelian dialectic

Ok, I did the google thing. Interesting. So, are we going to watch reruns of old wrestling shows?

Rick Flair for World President.

This becomes a koan in Bushworld, because he is both the thesis and the antithesis and yet never manages to integrate into a single, recognizable synthesis.

While some will claim that W is being tested as Job was tested, Job was a righteous man before the testing began while W has been a total f***ing screw-up his entire life.

Instead of Hegel we should review Bosch, as W is an optical illusion. We should also adjust the meds in the water supply to avoid this ever happening again.

So are you telling us that parties are more important than we are? Or is this your way of giving us just enough rope to hang ourselves?
I Dubya is being tested, I'm betting he's got Rove or Cheney taking the test for him.
Okay, I've done my part. See ya on the flip side.

To sum up the Hegelian Dialect.

The might is right so choose to fight to prove the point.

Well-done, folks! Now if you'll excuse me, I have some lens cleaner to sniff...
