New Toys

My polarizing filter has yet to arrive, but I got my yellow and red filters today...

My first experiment with filters and ISO settings. I used the red filter in an attempt to make the storm clouds look dark and ominous, and used ISO 1600 to create a grainy texture. Not exactly what I pre-visualized, but I'll keep practicing!

I don't know, they look kind of ominous to me.

I'm jealous- I want a new camera and can't afford to get what I want. :(

Yeah, they do. But I wanted them to look ominouser! ;-)

Actually, my disappointment is mostly with the contrast between the mountains on the right. I wanted more obvious layers of grey to show up, but I stopped it down too much I think. The ISO 1600 setting might've been a little overkill as well.

That said, overall I like the shot. It's funny to see the 2 little sail boats on the right with those threatening clouds overhead--but if you were there, you could turn to the east and see the clearing sky.

Maybe you should start a blog and ask for money. You've already got catblogging material!

Anyway, sorry that you're jealous. :-(

Start a blog and ask for money. Hmm. There's a thought.

Of course then I'd have to find someone to read it (besides my friends who don't have money either)
